Do not clean the windows for 30 days. This gives the adhesive
time to dry and bond with the glass.
After installation, you may notice that your windows have a dimpled
and or cloudy appearance, this is normal. Once the film dries,
it won’t have that appearance. The film dries faster in
warmer temperatures and slower in cold.
There is a very small light line (exposed glass area) between
the window frame and the film itself; this is essential for proper
edge sealing. Window film will enhance any imperfections in your
glass. You may also notice a few dust particles under the film
(very, very small) but unfortunately; we do not live in a dust
free environment so this can’t be eliminated especially
on larger glass panels.
Do not clean windows with abrasive pads or cleaners; use a soft
cloth, a clean synthetic sponge or soft paper towels. Use common
household cleaning solutions such as Windex®, Glass Plus®,
or products specifically made for window film and a clean, soft
cotton cloth. Plato’s One-Step
is a great cleaner/polisher/protectant, best cleaner available,
it has multiple uses and is available through Pro-Tint, Inc –
If you do not like it, we will buy it back.
If anything (stickers, tape, etc.) needs to be put on the windows,
put them on the outside if possible and wait until the film has
fully cured (30 days). NEVER use a razor blade to remove anything
from the film side of the window.
Residual glue or adhesive from masking tape, Scotch tape, or decals
that have been removed from the filmed window may be quickly removed
by very gently stroking the affected area with a soft cotton cloth
dabbed with pure Acetone (nail polish remover). Acetone should
be used in small amounts.
